An adolescent patient with bilateral cleft lip and palate treated with late bone grafting and edgewise appliance for mesial movement of the maxillary molars and improvement of the retroclined maxillary central incisor

• A patient with bilateral cleft lip and palate showed retroclination of premaxilla. The underwent a late bone graft (BG) without osteotomy the Large spaces after BG were closed by canine molar mesial movement. lingual inclination maxillary central incisors improved 24.5°. Even in BG, good outcome can be achieved clear treatment plan. In patients palate, management position premaxilla timing secondary grafting are key factors for successful orthodontic treatment. This case report shows results alveolar (ABG) fixed 14-year-old an adolescent growth spurt. had extrusion (5.5-mm overbite), significantly retroclined (SN-U1, 68.5°), 7- 9-mm widths. ABG was performed sites. An edgewise started 2 months to move canines direction improve incisors. Treatment occlusion nonprosthetic area, average 7 mm movement molars, improvement 24.5° SN-U1, adequate overjet overbite. As observed this patient, despite late-stage ABG, is possible initiating migration cleft-adjacent teeth grafted at early stage ABG.
